India, *** 2026: Bringing the promise of world-class education closer to home, University of Southampton Delhi, one of the UK’s leading Russell Group universities and India’s first UGC-approved international university, hosted an Open Day for prospective students and parents. With admissions open for the 2026-27 intake, the open day provided attendees with an opportunity to explore globally recognised undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered at the University’s India campus, along with scholarship opportunities, international learning pathways, and career-focused education.
Students and parents had the opportunity to learn more about a range of undergraduate programmes, including BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance, BSc (Hons) Business Management, BSc (Hons) Computer Science, BSc (Hons) Creative Computing, BSc (Hons) Economics, and BEng (Hons) Software Engineering, alongside postgraduate programmes such as MSc Data Science, MSc Economics, MSc Finance, and MSc International Management. The Open Day offered a comprehensive overview of academic pathways, career opportunities, admissions processes, and scholarship options available to students.
The Open Day also provided insights into the University’s distinctive academic approach, including its Triple Helix model that brings together academic excellence, industry engagement, and global opportunities. Through interactions with academic leaders, admissions teams, and current students, attendees gained a deeper understanding of how the University’s programmes are designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills, international exposure, and strong career prospects in an increasingly interconnected world.
Parents actively engaged with faculty and university representatives, asking questions about career outcomes, employability, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the support available to help students succeed beyond the classroom. The University highlighted initiatives such as the Talent Bridge Summit, which connects students with industry leaders and employers, and its Career Bootcamp, which equips students with practical skills including CV writing, interview preparation, professional communication, networking, and personal branding. These initiatives form part of the University’s broader commitment to preparing graduates for successful global careers.
The University also shared the strong market reception for its founding cohort, with over 50% of those seeking employment having secured placements and students securing roles across banking, consulting, technology and e-commerce at organisations including HSBC, Investec, Transbnk, ICICI Bank, Grant Thornton, Incedo, Zomato, JLL, L.E.K. Consulting and Oxford International, among others. These outcomes reflect the University’s commitment to combining academic excellence with industry engagement and preparing graduates for successful global careers.
Reflecting on her experience, Rhythm Khurana, a student from the founding cohort of the MSc Finance programme who secured an opportunity at L.E.K. Consulting, said:
“I have gained a vast set of skills that I could not have gained anywhere else. Employability is one of the University’s biggest priorities, and I experienced that through the skills and opportunities I received. My advice to the upcoming cohort is to embrace every opportunity. Be part of conversations that make you feel uncomfortable. Sit at tables where you don’t know anybody, because that is the learning curve you need in your life.”
University of Southampton Delhi completes a successful first year of operations and prepares to welcome its second cohort of students. Since opening its doors, the University has established itself as India’s first UGC-approved international university, offering students the opportunity to earn a globally recognised University of Southampton degree while studying in India.
Admissions for the 2026-27 academic session are currently open for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Eligible candidates can be considered for a limited remaining number of merit scholarships and merit bursaries, including the L.E.K. Consulting Merit Scholarships for early careers professionals.
The University has opened Clearing, a long-standing UK university admissions process that gives prospective students another opportunity to apply for programmes with remaining places. During this period, eligible applicants benefit from more flexible entry requirements, providing an additional pathway to join a globally recognised university.
