Application process

  • The entry requirements for each programme are stated on the programme web pages, with additional information for students holding other qualifications at University of Southampton international entry equivalencies.
  • All programmes are taught in English, and we require students to meet English proficiency requirements. These requirements may be met through school-level English language studies, or by appearing for one of the tests that we accept as evidence of English language proficiency.
  • There is a common application form for all students, and an application fee of Rs. 5,500/- is payable at the time of submitting your application form.
  • Academic transcripts must be accompanied by a translation into English for us to consider your application. Additionally, we will require the accreditation status of the last institution attended.

Your Student Visa

International students must obtain a visa as per Government of India’s regulations as specified from time to time. You must hold a valid Student Visa to study in India for the anticipated full duration of the programme of study. The student, or student’s guardian where applicable at any stage of the process, is responsible for applying for the Student Visa, payment of all visa and associated fees and expenses and compliance with visa requirements, documentation and processes required by the Government of India.

International students must have a valid offer from University of Southampton Delhi before applying for a Student Visa. To apply for a visa:

  • Hold an unconditional offer to study a programme with University of Southampton Delhi.
  • Students need to confirm a place in student housing and provide proof of accommodation to obtain a Student visa. Our Delhi campus offers fully furnished student housing, integrated with support services for you to settle into a new country quickly and easily.
  • After accepting your offer and paying the tuition deposit, apply for your student visa. You can find information on how to make your visa application using the Study In India Visa Guidelines or the Authorized Visa Portal.
  • Register on the Study in India portal, as  required for visa processing.

  • On arrival in India, all international students must register at the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) / Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) as required by regulations specified by the Government of India from time to time. Please start this process immediately on arrival in India, after registering yourself on the FRO/ FRRO portal.
