Locally led global thinking

Our university leadership team strategically guides University of Southampton Delhi to create a true international experience for students and staff. Senior leaders have taught, led and researched extensively in the UK and other countries including Malaysia, Dubai and Australia.

Internationally experienced faculty

Our academic heads and faculty members have been carefully chosen to build a bridge of understanding between distinctive academic traditions in India, the UK, and across the globe. Faculty are recruited to same standards as their colleagues in the UK with qualifications from top institutions, understanding what it takes to succeed in a globalised world. Their teaching approach fosters interdisciplinary thinking, an entrepreneurial mindset, and real-world relevance, reflecting the university’s Triple Helix model of innovation - education, research, and industry collaboration. Highlights include:-

  • A Computer Science faculty with 49 years of collective experience, around a quarter which has been gained internationally. All senior members of faculty have studied or taught outside India.
  • Academics in our Business Management, and Accounting and Finance, faculties with more than 32 years of collective experience, having gained around two-thirds of that in the international arena. Three faculty members have permanently studied or taught outside India, and all faculty members have contributed to international journals, conferences and research projects as part of their ongoing academic development.
  • An Economics faculty with more than 21 years of collective experience. Faculty members have held fellowship tenure outside India, have gained commercial experience with multinationals such as McKinsey & Company and American Express, and have collaborated with colleagues across the world for conferences, as collaborators on research projects, and as named contributors to academic publications.
  • Senior Deans and faculty from the UK who provide ongoing mentorship, oversight, and continuous academic review, supported by regular visits from UK-based academics who co-teach alongside Delhi faculty.

With UK and Malaysia campuses to call on, world-renowned colleagues can share valuable international perspectives, bringing new insights, cutting-edge research and a fresh academic approach compared to higher education institutions that operate solely in India. Recent visits, lectures and seminars and have delivered international perspectives on Artificial Intelligence, international relations, online safety, enterprise and entrepreneurship and international careers.

Students at University of Southampton Delhi will graduate having had a truly international experience – but delivered at home. At our campus in Gurgaon, students engage with the same curriculum - meeting the same academic standards - whilst learning within the same faculty-led frameworks as members of a diverse, globally minded cohort.

Academic rigour at University of Southampton Delhi mirrors students at University of Southampton campuses across the world. University Grants Commission (UGC) mandates that students in Delhi follow an identical curriculum to that of their peers in the UK. Curriculum design, classroom delivery, assessment, examinations, and moderation processes are governed by the same academic frameworks and quality assurance mechanisms used in the UK.

  • The same programme modules, delivered to the same academic standards, ensure a full academic equivalence and a UK-awarded degree certificate. University of Southampton Delhi degrees will be recognised and accepted across the world, guaranteeing academic prestige and global recognition.
  • Each year, on-course international mobility is available to selected undergraduates who are given the chance to spend a semester studying at the University of Southampton campus in the UK. This prepares students to think and operate globally, and is only possible because curricula in UK and Delhi match so closely.
  • Potential postgraduates can also benefit from international mobility routes. Those graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Delhi have enhanced progression opportunities for study on a follow-on postgraduate programme offered at University of Southampton in the UK.
  • Moreover, all students have access to University of Southampton’s UK-based digital library, learning resources, shared IT infrastructure and academic systems.
