Dr Nitish Gupta joined University of Southampton Delhi in August 2025 as Head of Business (Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise) and as a Lecturer in Business. He brings a proven track record in research, teaching, product innovation leadership and digital transformation to the campus.
Prior to this role, Dr Gupta served as Global Product Leader (Network) as a Service at IPC Systems in New York and London, where he led the launch of new services for capital markets and managed strategic cloud partnerships. He previously held positions as Global Product Manager at Bühler Group and London Medical Laboratory in London, where he spearheaded the development of innovative products, including high-tech optical sorters, solutions for food and plastic recycling, and advanced health check services. Over the course of his corporate career, he has worked with renowned organizations such as Tata and Merck and has collaborated with large corporations across various industries on research and innovation initiatives.
Dr Gupta holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, specializing in Strategic Technology and Innovation Management. He also holds an MBA from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering. He has served as a Visiting Researcher at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and has taught undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive-level courses at the University of Cambridge. He has also delivered guest lectures at institutions including the University of Liverpool and OP Jindal Global University. Dr Gupta has been invited to speak at several industry events and has served as a keynote speaker at the NYU Stern Innovation Conference. His primary areas of interest and research include strategy, innovation, and sustainability.
