Dr Simarjeet Singh is a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Southampton Delhi, bringing strong academic and research expertise in finance, investment strategies, and applied financial education. Dr Singh holds a PhD in Finance from Punjabi University and is UGC-NET qualified and a former Junior/Senior Research Fellow (JRF). His academic work focuses on investment behaviour, factor-based investing, personal finance, combining rigorous research with practical classroom application and is an active contributor to leading business publications including Mint, Economic Times, Forbes India, and BusinessLine.
Dr Simarjeet Singh is a finance academician with strong expertise in behavioural finance, investment strategies, and applied financial education. He previously served as Assistant Professor (Lecturer Grade) at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, and as Academic Associate in Finance at the Indian School of Business, Mohali.
Dr Singh holds a PhD in Finance from Punjabi University and is UGC-NET qualified. He was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) during his doctoral training, reflecting strong academic merit and research capability. His teaching portfolio spans undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education programmes. He has taught courses including Financial Modelling, Behavioural Finance, Personal Finance and Wealth Management. Dr Singh is particularly committed to experiential and technology-enabled pedagogy, integrating real-world datasets, simulations, and AI-supported learning tools into classroom instruction.
Dr Singh’s research focuses on behavioural finance, factor investing, fintech, decentralised finance (DeFi), financial markets, and investor decision-making. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals and has presented his research at leading international management conferences including the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting and the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference (BCERC) has achieved strong research impact with a high citation profile. His interdisciplinary work combines quantitative finance methods with behavioural and policy-oriented perspectives.
In addition to teaching and research, Dr Singh has contributed actively to academic leadership and institutional development. He has organized international conferences, faculty development programmes (FDPs) and Hackathons. He has also been involved in student mentoring, admissions interviews, and the establishment of student engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening academic culture. Dr Singh regularly contributes to public scholarship and policy discourse through articles in leading business and financial publications including Mint, Forbes India, BusinessLine, The Economic Times, and BW Education.
