Learn how a business operates and study key management concepts on our MSc International Management degree. The programme will give you insights into becoming an effective business manager in core management functions in our globalised workplace. It is open to graduates from a range of academic and professional backgrounds.

The programme incorporates inter-disciplinary perspectives into management teaching, such as the application of technologies and sustainable business practices.

You will learn:

What you will study

This is a full-time 1 year degree programme. The first 9 months of the programme comprises taught study, divided into 2 semesters. In semester 3 (the final 3 months) you’ll complete an individual research project for your dissertation.

Programme structure

The programme is built on a number of core and compulsory modules, that are designed to ensure that students gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of business. The programme includes modules such as:

  • Managing within a global context: offered by the Department of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour, this module explores advanced perspectives on management, leadership, power, culture and diversity.
  • Career management in a digital age: developed by a globally recognised expert in the area of career management.
  • Risk-taking and decision-making: this module emphasises how combining qualitative and quantitative thinking enhances effective decision-making in the face of risk and uncertainty.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for this programme, you’ll need an upper second-class degree, termed a 2:1 degree, or international equivalent in one of the following subjects:

English language requirement

We accept several ways of meeting our English Language requirement. These include:

  • IELTS Test, with scores of 6.5 overall (6.0 in reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
  • other tests listed on our website
  • an approved academic qualification having the required grade

If you’ve successfully completed a degree, taught and assessed in English, up to 2 years before the date of first enrolment at the University of Southampton, we may be able to accept this as evidence of your English language ability.

Our academic admissions criteria

Typical academic admissions criteria represent the usual level of academic attainment an applicant is expected to achieve prior to being admitted to that programme. Our fees

The fees for the year starting in August 2026 for Indian students are: 16,17,000 INR

The tuition fee is paid in 4 instalments.

  • Your first payment will be a deposit of 10% of the programme fee. To confirm your offer, you must pay your deposit as specified in your Offer.

For students starting in August 2026, the deposit is: 1,61,700 INR for India students

The balance of the yearly tuition fee is paid in 3 instalments.

  • 3,88,080 INR by Monday 07 September 2026
  • 5,33,610 INR by Monday 25 January 2027
  • 5,33,610 INR by Monday 19 April 2027

Fees for international students

The fees for the year starting in August 2026 for international students are: 18,48,000 INR

The tuition fee is paid in 4 instalments.

  • Your first payment will be a deposit of 10% of the programme fee. To confirm your offer, you must pay your deposit as specified in your Offer.

For students starting in August 2026, the deposit is: 1,84,800 INR for international students

If you are an international student, you’ll have to make 3 separate payments of:

  • 4,33,520 INR by Monday 07 September 2026
  • 6,09,840 INR by Monday 25 January 2027
  • 6,09,840 INR by Monday 19 April 2027

We may adjust the fees in the future to account for inflation and changes in other costs. Exact payment dates for future years will vary according to the academic calendar.
