In her role as Academic Provost, Professor Phillips is responsible for academic quality and delivery.
She played an important role in establishing the University of Birmingham’s flagship campus in Dubai where she is currently Head of Health, Wellbeing and Human Science programmes. Prior to this, Eloise was an Associate Dean at Aston University.
Prof Phillips is a registered nurse and highly experienced advanced clinical practitioner. Across her career she has worked globally in clinical practice, healthcare leadership and management, research, and academia.

Dr Vishal Talwar is Chief Operating Officer for the university’s Delhi campus with responsibility for growth strategy and delivery, as well as operations from marketing, recruitment and admissions, to campus life and student experience.
Dr Vishal Talwar brings a wealth of experience in higher education leadership, innovation, and academic excellence. Prior to this role, he served as Director & Head of Campus and Professor of Marketing at the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. He has also held senior leadership positions at BML Munjal University (BMU), including Dean of the School of Management and Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. His academic journey spans globally recognised institutions such as SP Jain School of Global Management and the London School of Economics.
A prolific academic, Dr Talwar has made substantial contributions to global research, publishing in various journals including the prestigious FT 50 list. His scholarly contributions extend to books, book chapters, and presentations at top-tier international conferences such as the Academy of Management Conference, American Marketing Association Summer Conference, British Academy of Management, and INFORMS Marketing Sciences. Dr Talwar is a PhD from Manchester Business School, UK.

Dr Sagaya Amalathas joined University of Southampton Delhi as Director of Learning and Teaching from University of Southampton Malaysia. She is responsible for delivering outstanding education and a distinctively Southampton student experience at the University’s Delhi campus.
Dr Amalathas is Head of Computer Science and an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton’s Malaysia campus. She successfully led the graduation of the campus's first Computer Science cohort. She has led higher education initiatives, conducted significant research, and contributed to the computing industry. Her expertise has been critical in designing, developing, and implementing applications used in Malaysian agriculture, medicine, and telecommunications.
Dr Amalathas said: “I have a strong passion for curriculum innovation and am excited about developing a creative and inclusive learning environment for all students at our Delhi campus.
“This is an exciting time for the University and having successfully launched and developed academic programmes in Malaysia, I am eager to contribute to the success of the Delhi campus, leveraging my dedication to education and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Mr Winstanley has been seconded from the University of Southampton UK to lead on India implementation.
For the past 5 years, Mr Winstanley has been Executive Director Student Life at the University’s UK campuses, responsible for areas such as Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise, Student Support and Experience, and Global Recruitment, Admissions and Marketing.
Mr Winstanley has previously worked at SOAS University of London; Goldsmiths University of London; the University of Sussex and the University of Liverpool in relevant recruitment, marketing and admissions leadership positions. He holds a BSc (Hons) Geology and Physical Geography from the University of Liverpool and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership and Management from the Open University.
Mr Zaveri joined as Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions Director and brings significant experience in student recruitment, marketing, and programme management.
Prior to joining the University of Southampton Delhi, Mr Zaveri served as Director of Admission Outreach at Flame University. He also held the position of Head of Student Recruitment at SP Jain School of Global Management, where he played a key role in enhancing student outreach and institutional development.

Dr Chitrakalpa Sen joins the University of Southampton Delhi as Head of Economics in May, bringing with him a distinguished record of academic leadership, research, and institution-building.
In his previous role as Senior Associate Dean for Internationalization and Mobility at Jindal Global Business School, Dr Sen led the school’s global engagement strategy. He has also led the MBA and BBA programme, where he played a key role in academic governance and curriculum innovation.
Dr Sen completed his PhD in Economics from West Bengal University of Technology and his MSc and BSc (H) in Economics from the University of Calcutta. With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, Dr Sen’s research focuses on financial economics with a particular interest in sustainable investing and market risk. His work has been published in journals such as Energy Economics, Resources Policy, and the Journal of Cleaner Production. He is also the author and co-author of several books.
Speaking about his new role, Dr Sen said: "I’m very excited to be part of the foundational journey of University of Southampton Delhi. The future is bright, and we have the opportunity to bring a real change in how economics is taught and learned in India. We’ll be following Southampton’s triple helix approach -- bringing together education, research, and knowledge-sharing with industry. It’s a practical and future-facing way to prepare students for the real world. We want to build Economics programmes that are known for asking important questions, creating meaningful knowledge, and preparing students to make a real difference. I’m looking forward to working with students and colleagues to make this vision a reality."
Dr Mohammed Anam Akhtar joins University of Southampton Delhi as the Head of Business (Education), bringing with him over a decade of academic excellence, leadership, and industry engagement. In his role, he will oversee the delivery and enhancement of business programs, ensuring academic rigour, innovation, and a strong student-centred experience.
Prior to this role, Dr Akhtar served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Dubai, where he also chaired the BBA program and actively contributed to the ACCA accreditation of the BBA program. His academic journey includes teaching engagements with globally recognized institutions such as Curtin University (Dubai campus) and consultancy roles for curriculum development and financial reporting standards.
Dr Akhtar holds a PhD in Management from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (NIT) India and is a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) recognised by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), UK. He is also a UGC-NET qualified academic.
Dr Akhtar has published extensively in leading international journals. His research interests span financial reporting, sustainable finance, behavioural finance, and financial inclusion. He has presented his work at premier academic platforms such as IIMs, IITs, and international conferences in Germany, Romania, and Dubai.

Dr Aparna Pasumarthy is a Lecturer in Business at University of Southampton Delhi. Dr Pasumarthy enjoys making complex management theory accessible to students and adopts a student-centric approach to learning and teaching. She previously taught postgraduate and undergraduate management students in the UK. Among other professional affiliations, Dr Pasumarthy is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, United Kingdom.
Dr Pasumarthy is an interdisciplinary qualitative researcher, and her research expertise spans the fields of careers, leadership, and organizational behaviour. Dr Pasumarthy’s on-going research projects focus on the (un)sustainable careers of professional men and women in India. She has presented her research at renowned international conferences including the Academy of Management Conference, European Group for Organisation Studies Colloquium, and British Sociological Association Work Employment Society Conference. Combining her expertise with her commitment to inclusion and social justice, Dr Pasumarthy aspires to help construct equitable organisational environments where all individuals can thrive.
Prior to joining University of Southampton Delhi, Dr Pasumarthy earned a PhD (Business and Management) from Queen Mary, University of London. Thereafter, she was the Garware Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Institute for Advanced Study of India (UPIASI). Apart from her professional interests and endeavours, Dr Pasumarthy is passionate about living sustainably and conserving the environment.
With experience in delivering higher education in the UK, Dr Pasumarthy is excited to bring excellent education to students at University of Southampton Delhi. She said: "I love using innovative teaching methodologies and enhancing the learning experience of students. Being a student provides many opportunities for personal and professional growth; I look forward to helping students achieve their potential academically and becoming well-rounded citizens."
Dr Samiya Khan is a Lecturer in Computer Science at University of Southampton Delhi, with a focus on inclusive computing education, research-led teaching, and strategic academic collaboration.
Dr Khan brings deep expertise in data science, ethical AI, and interdisciplinary research, underpinned by substantial international experience in both teaching and research. Prior to joining the University of Southampton Delhi, she served as a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Greenwich, United Kingdom. In this role, she played a pivotal role in curriculum development, student mentorship, and the supervision of award-winning undergraduate research projects.
She holds a PhD in Computer Science and has contributed to several funded research initiatives at the intersection of artificial intelligence, healthcare analytics, and sustainability. Dr Khan is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and has authored numerous book chapters and conference papers on topics such as data science for digital health, green computing, and responsible AI. She is also an active ambassador for Women in Data Science (WiDS), championing diversity and equity in technology through workshops, community engagement, and outreach events.
A strong advocate of responsible innovation, Dr Khan’s work explores emerging domains including AI for social good, data feminism, and Indigenous data governance. She has delivered keynote talks and guest lectures at international conferences and leading universities and has authored and edited books with top academic publishers such as Elsevier and Springer.
