Dr Prapa Rattadilok joined as Head of Creative Computing and to lead Academic Skills development. Dr Prapa is a higher education leader, researcher, and computer scientist with extensive experience in academic leadership, quality assurance, curriculum development, and international partnership management. Throughout her career she has held senior leadership roles in Schools of Computer Science in the UK and internationally, overseeing large-scale academic portfolios, strategic transformation, accreditation activities, and multidisciplinary teams.
She holds a PhD in Computer Science and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA), securing and delivering research projects across the UK, Europe, and Asia in artificial intelligence, data science, cyber security, healthcare technologies, autism support systems, smart tourism, and distributed networks. As Principal Investigator she has led projects valued at approximately £600,000 and has contributed to collaborative projects exceeding £4.7 million.
Her leadership achievements include successful NCSC/GCHQ-aligned cyber security programme accreditations, the development of international franchised and validated programmes, the implementation of innovative teaching models, and operational improvements that enhanced the student experience while delivering institutional efficiencies. She is committed to industry engagement, transdisciplinary research, graduate employability, and inclusive education. She has supervised multiple doctoral students to completion and mentored academic colleagues towards professional recognition.
Her research interests centre on artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, intelligent systems, cyber security, wearable and sensor technologies, educational innovation, and applications that address real-world societal challenges.
